Ken Wilcox Associates, Inc.Independent Leak Detection Evaluations
Fuels Management Research Center

The most advanced independent test facility in the world

KWA operates the largest and most advanced facility for conducting third-party evaluations of leak detection equipment, located in Grain Valley, Missouri. Every evaluation runs under published protocol, with controlled leak simulation and full instrumentation.

Full-scale tank systems

One 20,000-gallon and two 13,500-gallon underground storage tanks, configured for ATG, tightness testing, and continuous in-tank leak detection evaluations. Tanks can be manifolded together or individually isolated to a manufacturer's requirements.

Instrumented pipeline loops

More than 400 feet of underground pipelines — fiberglass and flexible — for evaluating line leak detectors and pipeline leak detection systems at regulatory thresholds.

Controlled leak simulation

Product dispensed at variable rates and throughputs, with or without leaks present, to simulate real-world gas-station operations. Heating and cooling capability reproduces product deliveries.

Data acquisition & reporting

A fully instrumented site with documented procedures produces evaluation reports regulators can rely on — certifications used by manufacturers in all 50 states and worldwide.
